Announcement regarding Senior Coach and Assistant Coach

The Board of Directors of the Fitzroy Football Club (incorporating the Fitzroy Reds) announces with regret the retirement of senior coach Simon Taylor.
Simon has coached the senior squad since the start of the 2009 season with distinction, taking the team to the grand final in his first year, leading to the promotion to Premier C.
In 2010 Simon and the senior coaching group have worked brilliantly with the team to ensure a Premier C tenure in 2011.
Simon's decision to retire from coaching at this time has not been an easy one. Simon will be focusing on family and work commitments in the immediate future and we wish him every success.
The Board, players and supporters would like to take this opportunity to thank Simon for his dedication and commitment to the club and wish him the best for the future.
The Board also regrets to announce the retirement of Mike Wallis, Assistant Coach. Mike worked closely with Simon over the past 2 years and has been an integral post of the senior team’s successes over that time. We would like to thank Mike for his dedication and commitment to the club and wish him the best for the future.
