Fitzroy Football Club ... major headache

Scott Palmer, Sunday Herald Sun, 14/11/04

"Fitzroy Football Club could cause a major headache to the Brisbane Lions by sending a reminder they are headed towards a breach of the merger agreement of 1996. The document, "a deed of company arrangement", stipulates the club must play as many games in Melbourne as possible with a minimum of six. In the 2005 draw Brisbane has five games here after buying back its "away" game against Melbourne. Fitzroy FC Ltd's board will insist the Lions stick to the original promise. Court action, we're told, is not out of the question."
