Tracey takes the team all the way

"Footy fanatic Tracey Power was more that a little disappointed in the efforts of her boys in blue this year.

So the Carlton supporter won her own premiership instead, with the Fitzroy Bombers.

The 34 year old Brunswick woman has only been playing in the RecLink Footy League for a year, but has already made a name for herself.

'I love playing because I get the bash up the guys', she said.

She was the only woman playing in the A grade final at Junction Oval yesterday, powering her team to a defiant win against Bert Williams Centre Magpies.

RecLink is not just a hobby, for some players its a life saver. Peter Cullen, who set up RecLink 13 years ago, said the program was aimed at disaffected people, particularly the homeless, unemployed and mentally ill. 'For many, this grand final is the highlight of their year'."
