Senior coaching changes at Fitzroy

02-Sep-2017

Fitzroy Football Club will be seeking expressions of interest for a Senior coach for 2018 after Nick Mitchell and the club agreed to part ways this week.

The Board and Nick have agreed that his tenure will not extend beyond season 2017, and that it is in the best interests of all concerned if Nick steps down immediately.

President Joan Eddy thanked Nick for his contribution to Fitzroy as assistant coach, co-coach and senior coach over the past three years, saying he has been committed and passionate and put everything of himself into the senior coaching role.

Given Fitzroy will play no part in finals this year, both parties are now free to start looking at future opportunities.

The Board thanked Nick and wished him all the very best in his future.

Nicks commitment to Fitzroy over the last three years both on and off field cannot be questioned. He has a great football knowledge and pedigree and we hope he continues to pursue his coaching career Joan said.
