One of modern Fitzroy’s favourite sons Jack Dalton will lead the club into Premier C in 2026, after being appointed Senior Coach.
A life member, premiership player and a member of the team of the decade 2010–2020, Jack is heart and soul Fitzroy.
A fierce competitor who has served as an assistant coach for the past two seasons, the selection panel found that Jack showed himself to be an incredible football thinker, a true leader, and a coach who will unite and build connections throughout the whole club.
‘Dalts’ played 192 games for Fitzroy, winning a premiership in the Under 19s in 2010 in his first year at the Reds before being a crucial player in the 2018 C Grade Premiership.
Dalts’ final game was in 2022.
The club has always been a big part of Jack’s life and he’s excited for the next challenge.
“I know how special Fitzroy is, it’s the people, the jumper and the community. It’s a privilege to take on this role to lead our next chapter,’’ Jack says.
“I’m keen to bring a clear vision for the club into 2026 and continue to see the boys grow not just as players, but as young men.”
Jack says his style will focus on culture, connection and clarity.
“It will be a tough, connected and exciting brand of football that really represents Fitzroy pride.”
Club President David Leydon said the entire club was very excited by the appointment.
“After a stellar playing career together with his recent years as an Assistant Coach, Jack commands utmost respect from all parts of the club,’’ the president said.
“His commitment to hard work and deep love and dedication to the Fitzroy Football Club are second to none.
“I can’t wait to see what season 2026 brings under his inspirational guidance.”
