Fitzroy Football Club: Great football, Great community, Great culture.

Ross Thornton and Leon Harris special guests at first 2015 Historical Function

The Fitzroy-Brisbane Lions Historical Society invites all Fitzroy supporters to join them at our first function for the year, to be held on Thursday 23rd April at the Fitzroy Bowling Club (578 Brunswick Street) commencing at 7pm.

Our special guests will include: Ross Thornton (Fitzroy Best & Fairest in 1984) who will give us an overview of the Brisbane Lions after being appointed to the Club’s Board in December last year; and Leon Harris (186 games and 96 goals with Fitzroy from 1979-89) who will speak about his playing days at Fitzroy and his current role with AFL Victoria.

Some representatives from the Brisbane Lions recruiting team – Peter Schwab (Talent Acquisition & Retention Manager), Stephen Conole (National Recruiting Manager), and Andrew Farrell (VIC & SA Recruiting Coordinator) – will provide the gathering with an update on the Brisbane Lions latest recruits, including their newest Father-Son selection Josh Clayton (son of Fitzroy best and fairest Scott Clayton).

Entry is just $10 for 2015 Historical Society members, and $15 for non-members. If you haven’t already signed up for this year, you can either do so on the night or CLICK HERE to download the application form.

As usual, dinner will be available from 5.30pm at very reasonable prices

Bookings are essential, so please contact Gemma Bentley at the Brisbane Lions Victorian Office on 03 8850 5600 or email to advise if you will be attending. We ask that you please also indicate if you plan on coming early for dinner.
