Top team and afternoon tea

11-Aug-2016

With just three rounds remaining of the VAFA Premier B season, the Fitzroy senior mens team takes on top side Beaumaris this weekend in the next step of their quest to play finals.

Fitzroy holds down third spot with just half a game and percentage separating them from fourth placed Old Scotch (their next opponent) and fifth placed Monash Blues, after a thrilling win over Monash in their last game.

It promises to be a tense few weeks, particularly if Saturdays game at Brunswick Street Oval is anything like the previous time the teams met. Fitzroy travelled to Beaumaris in May and forced the previously undefeated top side into a draw.

Playing two of the top four teams in the next two weeks is the perfect preparation for finals, provided the boys can keep on winning.

As per usual, start time is 2pm and dont miss out on this Saturday afternoons half time afternoon tea you may need the sugar!

Not only does Fitzroy have the best BBQ in the league, we also have a reputation to uphold with our cake making.

So Fitzroy supporters and players, we need you to bring a plate and help us maintain number one spot! Please leave your plate in the Community Rooms at the start of the seniorsgame TOMORROW.

The afternoon tea is during half time. The scramble for the best cupcakes and gluten free friands will be on in the community rooms as the teams take their major break at roughly 3pm.

Cost: $5 per head
Venue: Community Rooms under the Fitzroy Football Club Grandstand, Brunswick Street Oval.
