Royal Derby Round Event: Setting our football standards – meet Phil Bunn
He’s played, coached and advised on football in the country and the city, with experience at Adelaide, Port Adelaide and North Melbourne, as well as a successful coaching stint with the Murray Bushrangers.
Phil Bunn is the new Fitzroy Coaching Director and after the first month of footy, quietly observing the teams, the culture, the game plans, he’s developing some insights to help set us up for long-term success.
This is the first time Fitzroy has been in the position to appoint a coaching director.
Come along to lunch on Saturday 22 May and hear from Phil about his own football and coaching journey and his philosophy to help build on Fitzroy’s brand of football.
What will help us take the next steps?
Phil is a great storyteller, so don’t miss this one. The lunch is part of a big triple-header as Fitzroy takes on St Bede’s/Mentone Tigers at Brunswick Street Oval on 22 May, with a twilight game planned. More details on The Royal Derby Round are coming soon.
We’d particularly like to invite the parents of our Under 19s team members, who don’t often get to
play at Brunswick Street. It’s a great opportunity to hear about the club’s football plans for the
future and watch the future of Fitzroy football in action.
Details for the lunch:
Lunch is $45 a head for carvery, salads, vegetables, cheese and desert platters.
Drinks at bar prices.
What do we all love – the mighty Fitzroy Football Club and getting money back from the government!
It's coming up to tax time!
We are a strong, vibrant community club with a proud history that we are passionate about preserving and strengthening as we pursue success on and off the field.
To continue to strive for success and deliver the best football club experience to our community, the club established an Operations Fund where donations will be used to support the day-to-day running of the Club. This is facilitated by our partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, which allows all donations to the Fitzroy Forever Operations Fund to be fully tax deductible.
Coming up to June 30, it’s a good time to do some tax planning and why not make a contribution to help the club remain strong and vibrant—and get a tax deduction as well!
We are still buzzing from our first ever Pride Game!

We're still so thrilled and proud that we were able to participate in a Pride Game this season where our Senior and Reserves Women's teams represented us so well and are helping to continue conversations about diversity and inclusion at our club.
We also have more happy snaps from the day as player Hannah Knocker stepped behind the lens for the day. What a talented playing group we have!
