It came to our, and our other Yarra City Council sports
clubs' attention, late on Friday afternoon, that a significant
change will be proposed at an upcoming meeting of Council
to the Sportsgrounds and Facilities Allocation
Policy. You might have seen the story in the Herald Sun that has just been published.
The change being proposed is to increase the fees to ground
and pavilion hire. And they are price hikes that go beyond
anything we could have expected from Council, especially
without consultation.
Under the proposed increases, it would see our Club pay 378.993% more than what we paid for our last season in 2019.
Our 2019 costs for grounds and pavilion use was a total
of $6576.48
Proposed charges under Option 1 of the current proposal are:
Grounds $17,141.10
Pavilion $14,359.80
Total: $31,500.90
Increase: $24,924.42
Again, this is an increase of 378.993%.
A Council meeting is scheduled for 7pm, this Tuesday night, March 30 and will be online.
We are asking all our players, volunteers, sponsors, members
and supporters to please log on to the Council meeting
on Tuesday night from 7.00pm (dressed in your FFC gear
if you can!) to show your support for our Club as
we use the meeting to put questions to Council and raise
our concerns regarding this significant price increase.
Anyone is welcome to join the meeting, ask your friends, family,
anyone, to help support our Club and we thank you in advance
for standing with us on this important issue.
